Castle Lager Premier league returnees, Telone threw away a two goal cushion to allow ZPC Kariba to come from behind and earn a point at Nyamhunga stadium in Kariba.

The WiFi boys had taken an early first half lead courtesy of goals from new signings Eriya Mafirakureva and Polyester Shoko.

But the Gweru side allowed the hosts to find their way back into the match with Sam Makawa and Clive Dzingai restoring parity for Kauya Katuruturu.

Telone however, failed to manage the game well commiting some cynical defensive mistakes under the scorching Kariba heat.

“It is not easy getting a point away from home is not easy, our plan was to avoid defeat,”Telone coach Tendai Chikuni told the media after the match.

“When you look at the score line at half time, I can’t say I am happy with the result, when you concede two goals, it is not good. That was a silly goal to concede, it was a game of mistakes, and I hope my players have learnt from their mistakes.”

Elsewhere, FC Platinum edged league debutants, Chegutu Pirates 1-0 at Mandava stadium. Juan Mutudza scored in the first half.

In Chisumbanje,Green Fuel came from behind to beat Bulawayo Chiefs 2-1 while champions Ngezi Platinum Stars played out a nil all stalemate against Arenel Movers at Luveve stadium in Bulawayo.
