FORMER Dynamos winger, Mugove Munyorovi believes his former side has become so ordinary that it can no longer attract top players.
Sugar, as Munyorovi was affectionately known during his hey days, made his distaste on how the Harare giants are being run during a radio phone in program- Monday Night Sports Extra – on Star FM.
During, the show, the former player phoned in to register his displeasure, indicating that, as long as Dembare do not have a vibrant junior policy, it is impossible for the club to reclaim its place as the country’s top team.
“When i joined Dynamos, there were a lot of young players, Chamu Musanhu,Hope Chiota, Tichaona Diya, Lloyd Mutasa and many others were part of the juniors set up,” said the former winger, who joined Dembare in 1991.
“The same applied to Caps United, they had the likes of George Nechironga,Kudzi Taruvinga even at Black Aces, they also had their similar structures. So in the absence of junior policy Dynamos are going nowhere.”
Munyorovi was not holding back, as he tore into the club for losing its X factor, which has seen the Harare side missing out on several of its transfer targets.
Dembare was snubbed by former warriors attacker, Khama Billiat, who chose to sign for Yadah. Another former warriors player Kuda Mahachi also ditched Dembare for Manica Diamonds.
“The days i joined Dynamos, i also had offers from other teams, on the Mahachi issue, it is best people call him and ask the real reasons behind his decision to join Manica Diamonds. Players have their own reasons for joining clubs,” Munyorovi said.
“If you look at Dembare nowadays, they lack ‘ka that’ (that extra something), last season, they lost to Yadah and Benza’s team(Herentals), so nowadays, Dembare has no power.”
