THE Ruvimbo Central Region Soccer League will kick off on the first week of April officials have said.
The region’s chairperson, Patrick Hill revealed that the league will kick off on the weekend of 6-7 April, this, after clubs agreed at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Gweru on Saturday.
He also added that unlike last season, this time around the league will have an expanded number of teams, with 18 teams having shown strong interest of participating.
“This year we are going to have 18 clubs, which is an improvement from last season,” he said.
“We have also said that all the new clubs will have to fully pay their affiliation fees before they can be allowed to participate. This is a way of avoiding what happened last season when we had some teams failing to complete the season with the rest of the teams.”
West Nicholson FC,BBJ,Black Eagles, Wangu Mazodze City and Dinson Mvuma fc are some of the new boys in the league this season.
Affiliation fees for the new boys has been pegged at US$ 2350 while returning clubs will pay US$1850, March 1 has been set as the deadline.
