THE ZIFA normalisation committee led by Lincoln Mutasa has dismissed the Zimbabwe Women’s Super league executive committee for lacking proper governance structures and maladministration among other issues.
In a statement on Wednesday, the normalisation committee announced the decision which takes effect immediately.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association- Normalisation Committee hereby announce its decision to dissolve members of the Executive Committee for Zimbabwe Women’s Super League and administrator with immediate effect,” reads the statement.
“This has been necessitated by: 1.Governance – no statutory instrument being used in running the league, 2.Irregularities in the application of the rules and regulations,
“3.The league administrator is part of an administration of a club within the league. It is not in line with expected standards and the perceived conflict of interest for a team administrator to be expected to administer the league on behalf of other teams.”
The normalisation committee added that an interim committee to oversee the Women’s game would be announced soon.
The decision to sack the executive committee comes a day after mighty warriors goalkeeper, Cynthia Shonga revealed that she was contemplating quitting football due to poor remuneration.
