PREMIER Soccer League (PSL) new boys,Telone fc have roped in former Triangle united player Chasten Ngondonga as part of their technical department ahead of the 2024 season.
Ngondonga will be assistant to head coach Tendai Chikuni.
According to the ZIFA regulations, only coaches with CAF A licenses are allowed to sit on the bench in the country’s elite league, but recently the regulations were relaxed to allow CAF B license holders to coach in the PSL.
Ngondonga joins the WiFi boys technical team that also include former players Jacob Muzokomba and James Jam who were assisting Chikuni in the Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Soccer League.
Posting on his Facebook timeline, Ngondonga posted a picture of himself and the rest of the Telone technical staff with the caption, “New home.”
Ngondonga joins the WiFi boys from Eastern region soccer league side Mutare City, where he was the head coach. He is however, not new in the Midlands province, having previously coached Midlands State University fc in the Central Region Soccer League.
Meanwhile, the Gweru side have added a couple of new faces to their squad. ZPC Munyati duo of striker, Aubrey Nyandoro and midfielder Lloyd Gwerina as well as utility player Polyester Shoko, who was with Sheasham last season are training with the WiFi boys.
Telone president Oscah Nduwure did not however, divulge the identities of the clubs’ new acquisitions stating that they will only reveal the new additions when they conclude their business at the end of the month.
“We are working mostly with our team we had in division one,” Nduwure said.
“We may add a few individuals to strengthen areas which the technical team feel to be exposed. Will update the developments possibly at the end of this month when we conclude the signings.”
Several players have been trying their luck at the Gweru side, seasoned players such as Matripples Muleya and Evans Katema have recently been spotted at the Wifi boys’ training base.
