AFTER dominating the local bodybuilding circuit in the women’s section this year, Gweru based athlete Yeukayi Midzi is looking forward to completing the haul at the national finals this Saturday.

Midzi made six first place finishes at the various provincial competitions this year as well as a single second place finish in what has been a fruitful season for her.

But with the national finals slated for the 7 Arts theater in Avondale today, Midzi has made scooping top prize a top priority.

“As the holder of six gold and one silver medals in my division on the provincial shows so far this year, i feel more than ready to go and earn my final gold for the year,” the Muscle and Fitness gym athlete told The Echo Sports.

“This is the biggest show, and I feel excited, I am longing to just go out there and present the best because I feel I am in the perfect condition this time around.”

Midzi paid tribute to her support structure in the industry, those who have helped her reach this far, such as celebrated bodybuilder Isaac ‘Sugar’ Chimuchenga and Last Sithole, stressing that she wants to bring the gold back to Gweru.

“I always get advice from our legends and former champions Sugar and Last Sithole, who physically trained me last year . So nothing happened overnight, patience pays, now i am ready to bring the national gold to the Midlands once again,” she added.
