THEY may be having a slim mathematical chance of surviving relegation but Black Rhinos are not throwing in the towel yet.

The army side are second from the bottom of the log with 32 points with just two matches remaining in the season.

If they win their two matches, Chauya Chipembere’s tally will come to 38 points which may still fall short for them to preserve their place in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Other teams in the relegation matrix are closer to that 38 point mark and look likely to surpass it.

Sheasham are three points away, while Yadah and ZPC Kariba both on 37 points are just a point shy of Rhinos’projected total, complicating the army side’s survival chances.

However, Rhinos assistant coach Chris Mwanza sounded upbeat ahead of their clash against Sheasham on Saturday.

“The war is still on and we are just preparing for the last two games,” Mwanza said.

The army side have been using Sheasham’s Bata stadium as their home ground since June and Mwanza believes that this neutralizes the army side’s home advantage.

“They are going to come strong, we will be at home but using their home ground so to us it’s going to be something else, but we are not looking at that, we just have to prepare for the match,”he added.

Chauya Chipembere look depleted in defence heading into this match with defenders Douglas Mbewe and Tichaona Mchisa out through injury and suspension respectively.
