ALTHOUGH Zimbabwe made a winning start to the COSAFA Women’s championship in South Africa with a slender 1-0 victory over Lesotho, Mighty warriors coach, Shadreck Mlauzi feels the team still needs to do more to be at the same level with the rest of the teams at the tournament.
The mighty warriors were making their first international appearance in 18 months, following ZIFA’s suspension from football activities by FIFA.
Privilege Mupeti scored the solitary goal that gave Zimbabwe their first victory at the tournament.
While Mlauzi was happy with the win, he feels the team could have done better and needs to improve because the competition is now tougher.
“We have to be realistic, when we were not playing, others were busy improving,”Mlauzi said.
“So we are playing catch up but starting a tournament with a victory is good, it gives you confidence.”
