Kaitano Tembo has emerged as the front runner for the vacant warriors coaching job.
The former Dynamos and national team defender was recently appointed as one of the assistant coaches for the senior national team.
But following the sacking of German coach Michael Nees, Tembo may soon find himself at the helm of one of the hottest coaching jobs in the country.
Tembo however, is not a novice in the trade, he has vast knowledge and experience at the highest level.
The Kadoma bred coach represented Dynamos between 1992 to 1997 before joining South African side Seven Stars in 1998.
At the defunct South African side he only lasted for a season, joining Supersport United in 1999.
After retiring as a player at Supersport, Tembo was elevated into the club’s coaching department as an assistant coach.
He worked under coaches such as Gavin Hunt, Stuart Baxter and Eric Tinkler before taking over in 2018.
During his time as coach, Tembo reached two MTN8 Cup Finals, winning his maiden trophy against Highlands Park in 2019.
He has also had stints at Sekhukhune United as well as Richards Bay.
Is he the right candidate to lead the warriors at the AFCON in December.
Zimbabwe are in the same group as Egypt,South Africa and Angola.
