THE late ZBC Central Radio presenter, Farai Moyo ‘Fachie Styles’ was laid to rest on Friday at a local cemetery in Gweru.

Hundreds of mourners gave the ‘Radio General’ a befitting send off.

Central Radio 95.8 station manager Dumisani Sibanda described Moyo as a hardworking and committed presenter who was an asset to the station.

He added that the void left by Moyo would be difficult to fill, saying broadcasting will never be the same without Moyo.

“Fachie was a good workmate, I do not know what to say, we don’t know how we will fill the gap he has left,” Sibanda said.

“Broadcasting in the Midlands will never be the same. The heavens have gained.”

Musician, Liethens Musoni also paid tribute to Moyo whom he described as the voice of the radio.

“The voice of the radio is gone,as a musician I a.very sad today because this is one guy we would turn to and he was always there to give us support. It is sad day for all of us,” he said.

Moyo was one of the pioneering radio presenters at the Gweru based station.

He passed away on Wednesday at the age of 40 after struggling with an undisclosed ailment.

He was survived by his wife and two children.
