RESIDENTS of Mkoba suburb in Gweru on Saturday woke up to the shocking news of the death of a 27 year old woman who was allegedly stabbed in a case of ‘Mjolo’ gone wrong.

The deceased has been identified as Brightness Phiri of Mkoba 14.

Phiri is said to have been caught red-handed between the sheets with her married lover Tafadzwa Emmanuel Munyoro in his matrimonial bedroom.

Munyoro’s wife, Stacy Thokozani Mkandla is said to have returned home from an all night prayer earlier than expected.

Other sources claim that Mkandla got a tip off from neighbors who had become insensed of Munyoro’s shenanigans of bringing his girlfriends into the matrimonial home.

ZRP Midlands spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident.

“Brightness Phiri(27) of Mkoba 14 succumbed to multiple stab wounds following an attack by another woman Stacy Thokozani Mkandla (34) after she found her in their matrimonial home with her husband,” he said.

“Mkandla had left the previous night going for an all night leaving her husband, Tafadzwa Emmanuel Munyoro.She returned the following morning earlier than before at around 0400 hours.”

Insp Mahoko added:”She unlocked the screen to their house and went straight to their bedroom, where she found her husband and the now deceased in bed, she took a knife from the kitchen and the husband repelled the attack and went out.The two women remained in the house were the suspect is said to have taken another knife and stabbed the deceased a number of times.”

Phiri managed to escape and scurried over the durawall before succumbing to the injuries on the next street where her lifeless body was discovered.

After commiting the offence Mkandla handed herself over to the police.
