“An apple does not fall far from the tree,” so goes an age old adage. This rings true for eight year old Valentene Pembere who released his debut single Handina Nharo this past Friday.
Pembere is the son to Gweru based gospel artist Moscow Pembere.
The track was composed by the father and recorded by Valente and has been warmly received in the gospel circles.
Valentene was excited by the release of the song saying that he hopes this is the first step in his musical journey.
“I am happy to everyone who gave me support, musicians,my teachers at school and my former pre school for the support,” he said.
“I hope that this is the beginning of a long musical journey for me.”
His father, Moscow expressed joy at the release of his son’s debut track.
“I am so happy for him, he loves singing,” the father said.
“He is so committed, his determination is so amazing, sometimes he locks himself in the room for hours practicing his songs.”
Pembere added that the recording process was so flawless saying the boy was just a natural talent.
His hope is that the young boy who is doing grade two at Stanley primary school in Gweru will keep on the right track.
“I wish he will continue singing for God for years to come, as a parent who is also a musician I am forever grateful to the Lord,” he added.
“Many thanks to all the musicians, fans, the media and other stakeholders for the support. Valente will be going for interviews on various radio stations in the coming days.”
