AT a time when the country is bridled by delinquent youths, gospel musician Malvern Ncube, has provided an answer with his new offering titled Mubereki chii?

The song was released a fortnight ago and is already riding high on the airwaves.

On the song, General Malvern, as he is known in music circles, features his sister Modline Ncube and Pastor Kawisi.

It is a perfect masterpiece of art that is pregnant with a message that gives hope and wise counsel to the youths.

He calls on the listener to heed the Holy scriptures and respect one’s parents, likening the obedient child to arrows in a hunter’s quiver.

“A wise man in Apostle Ncube once said ‘Parental blessings opens the door for blessings’,” General Malvern recalls how he came up with the song.

“This got me thinking, i realized that as a deceived generation we are so invested in our pastors and prophets at the expense of our biological parents.

“I am not taking anything away from the good work our pastors are doing but I am simply encouraging everyone to prioritize taking care of parents.”

He added: “This song therefore, is an awakening message to us all that we can do it all but never forget the well you drank from.

“No matter how green you become as a leaf please never turn your back on the roots.

“Honoring your parents is the only commandment with a promise of a long life.”

General Malvern revealed that he is working on a video of the song.

The video will be released before the end of this month on YouTube and on his social media handles.

“At the moment I am just putting final touches to the video of the song which we expect to be out by 17 August,” he added.

The Gweru based musician burst onto the scene in 2017 with the chat topping album Ndatenda Ndapinda.

Since then, he has grown in leaps and bounds to become one of the prominent gospel artists in the Midlands.
