PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has commended Zimbabweans for their indomitable spirits and fortitude in the face of adversity.
He said this on Wednesday at State house during the Presidential national day of prayer.
“I commend the resilience and hardwork if our people, the private sector and other stakeholders. Our nation is testimony that in every circumstance, when facing plenty or lack, abundance or need, we can do all things through Jesus Christ,” the President said.
He urged Zimbabweans to remain strong saying only unity and hardwork can see the nation move in the right trajectory.
“Let us remain bold and courageous and never allow our brains or heads to be weak. Almighty God shall surely help our nation to reach greater heights,” President Mnangagwa added.
The national day of prayer service was attended by heads of various Christian denominations in Zimbabwe. Reverend Andrew Wutawunashe, Chairman of the Zimbabwe Indigenous International Council of Churches (ZIICC) said the day came into being upon request from the President.
“The invitation for the day of prayer was from His Excellency President Mnangagwa, with a specific request for the church to pray for the nation,” Rev Wutawunashe said.
