THE minister of women affairs, community, small and medium enterprises development Monica Mutsvangwa on Thursday outlined her vision for the ministry which she said is anchored on creating an environment where women are on the same pedestal with men in access, control and use of resources.

Mutsvangwa who took over the portfolio from Dr Sithembiso Nyoni, had a meet and greet with women right organizations, CSOs and other stakeholders in Harare, added that, this will go a long way in dealing with the rest of challenges tht women in Zimbabwe face.

“As we embark on this journey, my thrust is undoubtedly premised on creating an enabling environment for women and girls to enjoy equal and equitable access, control and ownership of resources to address gender inequalities,” she said.

“This is the basis for addressing all other aspects which include economic empowerment, gender based violence and increased meaningful participation in decision making positions, to name just a few.”

The agenda of the meet and greet was to strengthen CSO engagement and partnership with the government in fulfilling the constitutional mandate of achieving gender equality and equity
